Acer core 2 duo laptops Vs Pentium 4 desktops

The name itself suggests the deeds of acer. Ok lets say to whom you will rate??. If you say that you will rate Acer then i would probably say that go ahead and buy both and then observe which works for more time.. I bet you a billion dollar that P4 will work for a longer time.

My experience:-

In December 2008  I bought a new acer aspire 4520 which had a configuration as follows

-AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual

-Core Processor TK-57

- NVIDIA nForce 610M Chipset, Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 7000M  graphics

- 14.1″ WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT LCD with Acer CrystalBrite Technology

- Integrated variable-speed Super

-Multi drive

- Dolby-certified surround-sound system.

I know it sounds very nice. After 6 months i upgraded the RAM to 2 GB. At the end of 18 months laptop started irritating me. After pressing the power button till the final desktop there use to be around 24 min of wastage. Its ok if there is any problem with the Operating System. We can format it and then it works fine. But there was a problem in display. I use to get the display after 22 min and 2 min for normal booting. I went to the service center and the problem in motherboard was detected. Within 2 years a laptops motherboard can give problem was a shocking news for me.  The estimated cost of the motherboard in service center was 15k whereas it can be obtained in 8k at any laptop store. Now if you say that I haven’t used the laptop properly and drastically made a rough use of it then here are some more examples of the same problem. So why Pentium 4 ?

I had purchased a Pentium 4 processor based computer in 2006. Configuration as follows

- Intel Pentium 4  @ 3.0 ghz

- 512 MB RAM

- 120 GB HDD

and other as normal which mentions iball cabinet, 17 inch flatron, creative 4.0 etc. Guess what, I am still using the same computer and don’t know at which corner is my laptop. I am very happy that my computer is that faithful and has never disappointed me.

Guys, this is my personal experience. There is no kind of personal hard relation with acer. But just wanted to express my irritation level and hence I used my own site as a medium for the same.

Well, I would also like to say that there are chances that its my bad luck that this product was an unsuccessful intro to the market and I was trapped in the cage. I know that Acer is one of the leading companies in laptop manufacturing and it also has some of the best products in the world. But what can I do?? I don’t have that best product…:)
